“Pioneer Road”

The “Pioneer Road,” discovered on an 1857 U.S. Quadrangle Survey, traverses Crooked Creek Ranch, crossing Crooked Creek at the historic Briggs Ford crossing and leading directly to downtown Yellville.

Its age and location warrant further investigation into its possible connection to the “Trail of Tears” and other significant historical events.

 

“Planning”

Roads, hiking trails, nature paths and R&D areas are currently in the planning and construction phase,  considering ease of access, drainage and  firebreaks, all with due respect to the natural topography of the land and waters.

“Natural Classroom”

The Ranches springs, seeps, streams, crystal-bearing geology, forests and wildlife habitat provide a natural classroom for students as well as opportunities for landowner education, conservation workshops, research and hands-on stewardship.

 

“Future Phases”

Future phases may also provide carefully considered opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, recreation, tourism, and hospitality, inviting the broader community to experience and appreciate the landscape while helping protect what makes it special.
